I’m pregnant with twins, should I eat for 3?
If you’re pregnant with twins, you might think this means you should start eating for three. However this is sadly not the case. In the first 24 weeks of pregnancy you should aim to gain 24 lbs (so around 1lb a week.) From week 25 onwards aim to gain 1.25-1.5 lbs a week.
Eating a healthy diet which is rich in nutrients is key with a twin pregnancy. So lots of fruit and vegetables, lean protein, calcium rich foods such as dairy produce, and good quality carbohydrates whilst cutting back on fatty, sugary foods.
Drinking plenty of water will also help you to stave off constipation and keep you hydrated.
