Signs that you may be pregnant with twins
Before your scan you may have noted that you’re bigger than you’d expect for your dates, feel very sick/ be very sick, have very sore breasts, suffer from severe symptoms similar to those associated with PMT (irritability, weepiness, mood swings etc). Some mums note a period-like pain during the early stages of pregnancy..this is making room for the baby/babies. However always err on the side of caution and get any unusual symptom/pain checked by a medical professional.
However some mums will find they have many of these symptoms and not be having twins, and others will escape without symptoms and still be having twins so it’s best to have an ultrasound to make sure.
If you have any reason to suspect that you may be having twins (looking big for your dates, having a strong history of non-identical twins in the family, have taken ovulation stimulant medication, have had IVF etc) then contact your health centre.
