Did your twins have a  vaginal delivery or caesarean or both?
Did you plan for a vaginal delivery and end up having a caesarean, or vice versa?
Did you have to deliver the second one by caesarean?
Did it take you long to recover from the birth?

Re: Did your twins have a vaginal delivery or ceasarean? or both?

I had an elective C-section at 38 weeks because one of my girls was insisting on lying sideways / breech. This was advised by my consultant although he would have let me try for a natural birth if I had really wanted to. Very glad I didn't though as my second daughter got wedged sideways. Not a problem with a caesarean but would have been a major issue if had be a normal delivery.
The actual delivery was fine, low stress, felt rested when they arrived as not been through labour which was good as then barely slept for the next 48hrs! So well looked after by all the hospital staff.
I recovered really quickly, infact probably overdid things a bit. Walking slowly the day after and didn't need that many pain killers.
I think you just have to listen to the advice given and try and make a balanced decision that is right for you. smile

Hi Anna
I was really interesting reading your reply- I had one twin lying sideways n refusing to move but as her sister had got herself engaged properly they attempted a vaginal delivery.

I had an episiostomy (cut) to help get twin 1 out, they rushed about trying to find the mobile scanning unit to see which way twin2 was lying, in the end they literally twisted her out of me, her chord was wrapped round her neck and we nearly lost her at one point.

When I was pregnant I hadn't realised it was possible to give birth to twins vaginally I assumed it must be a caesarean job - so when I went to antenatal classes I didn't listen to the bit about pushing and labour and breathing techniques thinking that it wouldn't apply to me!! Oops. lol
